He could be right. I've got 8 disks in my 'Trapp, the white spacer still in, and the idle mixture screw turned out some (but I don't know exactly how many turns). No blue anywhere yet after over a year, only some golden color on the rear baffle plate. But then, I'm pretty religious in killing the engine if I get stuck in motionless traffic for more than a minute.
As I understand it, the best way to adjust the idle mixture screw is to warm the bike up fully, then at an idle, back it out (counter clockwise) until the idle begins to slow. That's as rich as you want to get. Hope this helps.
